Constituent Session of the ICT Digital Forum

Skopje, February 13th, 2019

Recognizing the importance of digital transformation and of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, involvement of all parties in joint coordination is necessary to support the transition of the economy and domestic market.

This created the idea and the need to establish a Digital Forum on Information and Communication Technologies, as partnership and coalition forum on exchange of ideas between institutions and other stakeholders that support digital partnership.

Today, the ICT Digital Forum held a constituent session chaired by the Minister of Information Society and Administration, Damjan Manchevski.

Mr. Boro Jakimovski, Ph.D, representative of the academic sector and professor at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, was elected as the Forum's president, and the elected deputy-president thereof was Mr. Bardhyl Jashari, representative appointed by the non-governmental sector and Executive Director of "Metamorphosis".

Today's session established the dynamics of meetings among members, future steps aimed to specify the vision and goals of the newly-established Digital Forum, and the manner of further communication with the National ICT and Cyber Security Council.

In addition to the Minister of Information Society and Administration, Damjan Manchevski, and the National ICT and Cyber Security Council President, Vladimir Cvetkovich, the Forum includes 12 more participants, including members of the non-governmental and the academic sector and Chambers of Commerce operating in the field of information and communication technologies.

The work of the Digital Forum will be based on exchange of ideas, experiences and information related to information society. Moreover, the Forum ensures coordination and participation of the public, private, civil sector and the academic community in development of information society.

Minister Damjan Manchevski expressed his gratitude to the attendees on their willingness to assist and actively engage in the Forum's operation. The aim of the Forum is to hear the views and opinions, not only of government institutions, but also of IT sector participants that would provide their assistance in development of policies and strategies in the field of information and communication technologies and information society.
