Shaqiri: Citizens and businesses will have the opportunity to replace waiting lines at front offices by obtaining services from home or work offices
Skopje, 18th September 2021
The Minister of Information Society and Administration, Dr. Jeton Shaqiri participated on the second meeting within the frames of the preparation process of the Economic Reform Program 2022-2024, under the leadership of the Ministry of Finance and members of the inter-ministerial work group for preparation of the Economic Reform Program reforms 2022-2024.
This meeting, among other things, covered discussions regarding the proposal for reform measures that will be included in the Program 2022-2024 and will be in the direction of green transition and digital transformation. Here MISA is implementing and supporting measures such as increasing the electronic services of public institutions and their integration into the national service portal, project for implementation of intelligent transport system (ITS) along Corridor 10 and other initiatives in cooperation with ministries and other enterprises in full digitization and electronic exchange function.
These electronic services, which are already in an implementation phase, integrate most services from several ministries in North Macedonia (interior affairs, economy, justice, education and science, labor and social policy, foreign affairs, courts and prosecution, and some directorates and administrations, such as the Central Registry of North Macedonia, the Public Revenue Office, the Office for Management of Registers of Births, Marriages and Deaths, etc.) from where, for the first time, citizens and businesses will have the opportunity to replace the waiting lines at front offices with services obtained from home or work offices.
The generated electronic documents are now completely legal and can be used everywhere, since they are recognized in the positive legal system in North Macedonia with the latest legal amendments.
The proposed measures, which will be part of the Economic Reform Program 2022-2024, are implemented along with the EU and are a preparation for participation in the economic and fiscal supervision process of the EU member states, in order to implement the main reform processes in the country, which will affect the intensification of the dialogue with the EU. The program will be submitted to the European Commission by the end of January 2022.
