Shaqiri: We are determined to stay on the path of digitalization, the e-submission application system in implementation phase
Skopje, September 23rd, 2021
Today, at a joint press conference, the Minister of Information Society and Administration, Dr. Jeton Shaqiri, and the Deputy Prime Minister for Fight against Corruption and Crime, Sustainable Development and Human Resources, Mr. Ljupcho Nikolovski, promoted the e-submission system for reports, complaints and proposals, towards implementation phase.
"The Republic of North Macedonia is determined to stay on the path of accelerated digitalization and increased application of digital solutions, electronic services. They provide quick and easy access to information, as well as the realization of public services electronically, which saves citizens time that they would otherwise spend in waiting-lines at front-desk offices. For that purpose, MISA, as a competent authority for the National Portal for E-Services, which grants citizens and legal entities access for provision of electronic services, is constantly adding new services. We are currently in the final phase and next week, with the Ministry of Justice and 26 courts from across the country, we will have the opportunity to promote new services for certificates and documents from citizen’s criminal records. "These are hundreds of hours saved waiting in line at front-offices, a lot of stress and a source of corruption," said Minister Shaqiri.
He informed that by the end of 2021, dozens of e-services will be promoted with the Ministry of Interior Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, etc.
"Soon we will introduce a new digital channel for citizens, which will allow them at any time, online, to report a problem or complaint related to a public institution, as well as to report a problem in the procedure for obtaining a certain service from the public administration. This system will improve the transparency regarding the manner that state administration bodies settle the procedures, so that the communication and the proceeding process will be available to the citizens and legal entities in order to create "positive pressure" for overcoming the problems. "We will use all the necessary mechanisms to contribute to increasing the public administration efficiency, which works fully in the service of the citizens," said Dr. Jeton Shaqiri, Minister of Information Society and Administration.
