Minister Shaqiri presented the budget of the Ministry of Information Society and Administration for 2022

Skopje, December 2nd, 2021

"The draft budget of the Ministry of Information Society and Administration for 2022 is 1,323,684,000 denars, which means that some items of the budget are higher compared to last year," said Minister Jeton Shaqiri at today's press conference.

The budget of the Ministry of Information Society and Administration is divided into 3 parts:

1. The first and most of these funds, ie 900,000,000 denars are allocated for financing the National Radio Television, the National Broadcasting and the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services.

2. The second pillar in MISA’s budget is the budget of MARnet which amounts to 15,254,000 denars. By allocating funds in the budget, and as part of the National Operational Broadband Plan, we are continuing to invest in connecting the Universities and all other educational and research institutions MARnet’s network, which will contribute to the implementation of the goals related to increasing the needs for broadband services' usage and their promotion as well as reduction of the digital gap.

3. Large part of the funds from the rest of the draft budget for 2022, ie the third pillar with a budget of 277,532,000 denars, are provided for digitalization of services and easier, faster, more efficient access to the services by citizens and businesses.

"Transparency and open operation, as well as regular consultations with citizens are the basis of policy and decision making, which are in the best interest of citizens. "I would like to express my gratitude to both the Ministry of Finance and the Government for the sensitivity with regards to this and I am convinced that 2022 will be a year of many successes not only for MISA but also for every citizen," ended his presentation Minister Shaqiri.
